How to Freeze Cooked Apples

You can used baked apples in a variety of ways, such as a pie filling or dessert topping. Bake the apple whole and enjoy it as is, or cut it into slices. If you plan on eating the baked apple as is, sprinkle it with a little sugar and cinnamon before baking it as a sweet touch. When you have more fresh apples than you can enjoy at the moment, cook and freeze them for a future treat.

Step 1

Bake the apples until they are slightly undercooked to prevent them from getting mushy during the freezing process. Allow the whole, baked apples to cool to room temperature before packaging them for freezer storage.

Step 2

Wrap each baked apple individually in heavy duty aluminum foil or plastic freezer wrap. Place freezer tape over the foil's or wrap's edges to create a secure seal.

Step 3

Arrange the wrapped apples in a small cardboard box, carton or storage container to protect them while in the freezer. Write the storage date on a piece of freezer tape and press the label onto the box or container.

Step 4

Store the baked apples at 0 degrees F for up to two months.
